Platelet-rich Plasma (PRP) Injection Treatment

Feeling refreshed and confident can happen naturally. Over the years, aesthetic treatments have garnered a stigma that only formulas like BOTOX® Cosmetic can deliver anti-aging results. Actually, this couldn’t be further from the truth. Here at Lavana Medical Aesthetics, we offer Platelet-rich Plasma or PRP treatments. These treatments can rejuvenate your skin and restore the luster of your hair by only relying on your body’s natural healing properties.

What Is Platelet-rich Plasma?

Platelet-rich Plasma has a long history of use as a healing treatment for injured tendons, ligaments, muscles, and joints. In the aesthetics space, PRP is used to rejuvenate the skin and improve hair growth. This is done through the use of plasma extracted from the patient’s own blood. The process is simple and requires only a small blood sample to be effective.

What does Platelet-rich Plasma (PRP) address?

PRP can serve as an effective treatment for a range of skin issues. PRP can improve hair loss signs. If you are in the process of losing your hair, a series of injections can stimulate dormant follicles to regrow. In most cases, several sessions may be needed to reap the full benefits of this treatment.

OTHER CONCERNS INCLUDE:
  • ACNE SCARRING
  • ROSACEA
  • WRINKLES
  • MELASMA
  • SUN DAMAGE
  • HAIR LOSS

How does it work?

During a Platelet-rich Plasma, a small amount of blood is extracted. This process is the same as a routine blood draw. Then, the blood sample is placed in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets. Once ready, the platelets are used in tandem with a microneedling procedure or as a standalone injectable.

What can I expect during treatment?

Your experience will depend on the issue you would like to address. PRP is an effective choice for both skin rejuvenation and hair restoration. In either case, we will begin the procedure by extracting a small amount of blood and then activating the platelets. The extraction and injection processes are well-tolerated and don’t cause any serious side effects.
