What is Deep Fractionated Resurfacing?

Fractional Skin Resurfacing and rejuvenation offer two modes: ablative and non-ablative, depending on the patient’s treatment expectations and skin goals. Fotona’s fractional resurfacing treatment follows a three-step process: deep dermal heating, removal of old skin via micro-ablated channels, and a subsequent light peel that addresses superficial imperfections on the skin.

This highly effective treatment not only enhances the appearance of deep scars, facial texture, and fine lines but also imparts a beautiful plumpness to the skin as cells heal and regenerate rapidly. Skin resurfacing is minimally invasive and typically involves very little downtime.

What does Deep Fractionated Resurfacing address?

An ideal candidate for Fractional Laser Resurfacing is someone with concerns about skin elasticity, superficial texture irregularities, scarring, sun spots, and desiring an overall lifted and youthful appearance.

DEEP FRACTIONATED RESURFACING CAN HELP WITH:
  • SUN SPOTS
  • SUPERFICIAL TEXTURE IRREGULARITIES
  • SKIN ELASTICITY
  • SCARRING
  • OVERALL YOUTHFUL APPEARANCE

How does it work?

At Lavana Medical Aesthetics, our Fotona™ Fractional Resurfacing treatment is entirely tailored to your unique needs. Using our Er:YAG laser, we employ a fractionated approach, where micro-beams split to target approximately 50% of the skin. This fractional technique accelerates healing and enhances collagen stimulation.

The versatility of the Fotona™ laser allows us to precisely adjust treatments according to your individual skin condition. By focusing on imperfections while minimizing impact on surrounding healthy tissue, this method ensures targeted and effective results.

How Does Resurfaceing Works

What results can I expect?

The duration of your healing process will depend on the depth of your treatment, and you may encounter erythema (redness) that can persist for a few days to a week. However, individual healing times can vary. The initial redness and swelling typically diminish within a few hours after treatment, leaving a pinkish glow that gradually fades over time.

During the healing period, it’s important to avoid direct sun exposure and to apply/re-apply sunscreen with a high SPF when outdoors to protect your skin.

The desired outcome will depend on the frequency and amount of treatment sessions specific to your skin concerns. On average, clients typically schedule the treatment every 6 weeks to achieve optimal results.
